What is Cloudzilla’s Bucket Storage?
Picture this: you have a project that needs a reliable place to stash files, images, data backups, or other essential assets. Enter Cloudzilla’s Bucket Storage—your go-to storage solution that’s simple, secure, and accessible right from your workspace. Unlike Cloudzilla’s roaming app and database projects, Bucket Storage is designed to stay put, attached to your workspace, and always available to any project within that workspace.
Cloudzilla’s Bucket Storage is built to be both rock-solid and hassle-free. Need storage? It’s there. Want easy access? You’ve got it. Think of it as your storage vault in the cloud, with all the flexibility your projects need without any of the roaming complexity.
Cloudzilla’s Bucket Storage isn’t just another cloud storage option. It’s designed with developers in mind, making sure your assets are exactly where you need them, when you need them—no frills, no fuss.
Here’s why developers love it:
Workspace-Level Storage: Attach your bucket to a workspace, and any project in that workspace can access it. Need a shared pool of images, scripts, or assets across multiple projects? Bucket Storage has you covered.
Stable and Secure: While your apps and databases roam freely across the best-performing regions, your bucket stays put, ensuring stable access to your assets without the added layer of traffic management.
Accessible from Anywhere: Whether you’re deploying a web app, API, or background service, Bucket Storage provides reliable access to your data across your workspace.
Ready to get your bucket up and running? Setting up Cloudzilla’s Bucket Storage is as easy as activating it, saving your credentials, and you’re off to the races.
1. Activate Bucket Storage
First things first, head to the Blob Storage section in your Cloudzilla dashboard. You’ll see an option to Activate Bucket Storage if you haven’t already. Click it, and just like that, your storage bucket is live and ready.
2. Secure Your Access Keys
Once you activate your bucket, Cloudzilla will generate an Access Key and Secret Key. Important note: these keys will only be shown once, so copy them somewhere secure. These credentials let you access your bucket programmatically, so treat them like the keys to a very exclusive club.
Access Key: Your public identifier for accessing the bucket.
Secret Key: Your private pass to secure access—don’t lose it!
3. Start Storing Data
With your bucket active and your access keys saved, you’re all set to start storing data. Upload files, create folders, and manage your assets through Cloudzilla’s easy-to-use interface or API calls. All the projects within your workspace will have access to this shared storage, making asset management across projects a breeze.
How Bucket Storage Fits with Cloudzilla’s Supercloud
While your app and database projects are out there roaming for the best performance and cost optimization, your Bucket Storage remains right where you left it. This static setup provides predictable, secure access to all your assets, so your files don’t have to roam with your applications. And because it’s attached at the workspace level, you get centralized storage accessible to any project within that workspace.
In short, Bucket Storage offers stable, workspace-centric access to all your files. No fancy optimizations or roaming configurations here—just reliable, accessible storage that works.
Managing and Updating Bucket Storage
Once your Bucket Storage is live, managing it is as easy as pie:
Recycle Access Keys: Need a new set of access credentials? Simply use the Recycle Access Key option, and Cloudzilla will generate a fresh pair. Just remember to save them—they won’t be shown twice.
Deactivate Storage: No longer need the bucket? You can deactivate it anytime, instantly cutting off access to all projects within the workspace.
And don’t worry about capacity limits; Cloudzilla scales with you. Start small, then upgrade as your storage needs grow.
